EXCLUSIVE: Top NY comic Modi Rosenfeld has announced that his debut special, Know Your Audience, will be available everywhere via 800 Pound Gorilla on March 22nd. He’s also unveiled a trailer that you can view above.
The special offers a deep dive into Rosenfeld’s Jewish background, taking audiences through the experience of sitting shiva (the formal seven-day period of mourning a loved one) and the many fundraising events at which he so often takes the stage. Rosenfeld also pokes fun at the differences between Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews, offering insight through humor into the nuances of Jewish identity.
Currently on his “Know Your Audience Tour,” Rosenfeld is set to perform for a sold-out audience at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on April 11th. Born in Tel Aviv, Rosenfeld emigrated with his family to the United States at the age of seven, growing up on Long Island and entering the workforce as an investment banker after graduating from Boston University. He decided to try his hand at stand-up after after being encouraged by a friend and, after his first open-mic night, realized that comedy is his true calling.
Alongside Periel Aschenbrand and Leo Veiga, Rosenfeld co-hosts the podcast And Here’s Modi, giving an inside look at the man behind the microphone. Previously, he’s played himself on HBO’s Pete Holmes comedy Crashing, additionally appearing in films like LA Film Festival award winner Waiting for Woody Allen and the TIFF prize-winning documentary When Jews Were Funny.
