Shaughna Phillips has candidly opened up about her weekly visits where she takes daughter Lucia, nine months, to prison for a visit with her ex-boyfriend Billy Webb, who is serving time for drug charges. The former Love Island star, 29, had her life turned upside down when Billy was arrested in a drugs raid and sentenced to nine years in jail after admitting conspiracy to supply 4.5kg of cocaine worth at least £360,000, just two months before Shaughna's due date. But now, it's been nine months since giving birth and she has a routine in place so that Lucia can see her dad regularly.
"It’s not a decision I made lightly and I won’t lie, the first time I took her was really scary and daunting,” she said of the weekly visits. She continued: “I don’t think it hit me what was happening until I got into the building. I was so nervous but it was never a question for me.
I always knew I was going to take Lucia to visit her dad." Sharing her reasoning behind visiting Billy, Shaughna explained that she thinks it is 'so important' for Lucia to have a bond with her dad, as she does with her mum. She told us: "Although it’s the last place on earth I’d hope to take a baby, I just felt like I owed it to her. Billy’s obviously missed out on a lot in her life due to his actions but I was never going to stand in the way of him being a dad.” Soon, Billy will be moved to an open prison and have more freedom to see Lucia, who will be 16-months-old when the businessman and property developer begins day release.
