Shania Twain has opened up about her battle with lyme disease, admitting that she was left "depressed" when she was suffering the illness.
In an Interview with ITV's Lorraine Kelly on Thursday, the pop icon said that she's glad to have her "life back".
The 'Man! I Feel Like A Woman!' hitmaker, who is performing at Glasgow's OVO Hydro for three nights in September as part of her UK tour, contracted the disease in 2003 and later had to undergo throat surgery.
Shania told the Scots presenter that she feared she might not have been able to sing again, let alone speak.
The 57-year-old was speaking about her new album 'Queen Of Me' and said that she now feels comfortable in her own skin, adding: "I wish I had got there sooner... earlier in my life. But you know I'm better now than ever.
"But it was quite depressing, you know, devastating to imagine that I would never sing again.
"Even speaking has always been difficult with the lyme disease. I just feel so grateful that I can finally sing and express myself."
Lorraine later asked the Canadian about her tour, saying: "Is it going to be all the songs we know and love?"
"Yes. Of course I will do the classics and I will have new songs off of Queen Of Me - and it'll just be a fun, dancing, singalong," Shania replied.
