Tom Sizemore’s family has a difficult decision ahead of them.
Earlier this month, TMZ reported that the Saving Private Ryan actor collapsed in his Los Angeles residence around 2 a.m. after suffering a brain aneurysm. At the time, his manager, Charles Lago, told the outlet that someone eventually found the 61-year-old unconscious, before calling emergency medical services. The Hollywood Reporter later shared that the Point Break performer was “in critical condition and it’s a wait-and-see situation.” Now, his family is providing an update.

In a Monday statement released through Entertainment Tonight via Tom’s manager and the actor’s family, they gave insight into his state since suffering the life-threatening incident:
Doesn’t sound too good… If you’re not aware, a brain aneurysm occurs when a “bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain” ruptures, “causing bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke),” according to the Mayo Clinic. The statement continued:
So that’s it… Once that “end of life” call is made by medical professionals, it means there’s pretty much no chance of recovery, and the patient is holding on because of life support and intensive care. We can’t imagine how his family is feeling right now.
