She, along with other members of ASN Reform Scotland, will be taking to George Square in September to demand that better support if offered to children who are struggling, reports Glasgow Live.
Kirsty said that Kyle was pulled out of school in primary 7 after attempting to take his life four times.
She explained: "My son missed out on at least two months of Primary 7 because the support wasn't there for him and it impacted his mental health. This is happening to 100s of kids across the country, it isn't just one local authority.
"It is completely heartbreaking. Our children have same rights as anyone when it comes to education.
"If they are given the right support they flourish. Throughout primary school my son hated it, he was miserable.
"Sending your child to a place where he can't be supported is devastating, but as a parent we are legally expected to. It's wrong. I had to give up my job to care for my son.
"We went from two full-time wages to one full-time wage. He was with us 24/7 because he wasn't able to cope with being in school. It was the psychiatrist who said he needed to be pulled out.
"Kyle has tried to take his life four times and he is only 12. There is just not enough support available to the kids.
"It's not the schools fault because they have been set up to fail. We are fighting for the teachers and the kids."
Kirsty believes she is just one of many parents who are facing these
