A new list of the "best places to go in the UK and Ireland in 2024" has been published by a luxury travel magazine, including two Scottish destinations.
As part of its global guide to the 'Best Places to Go in 2024', Condé Nast Traveler has shared its picks for the UK's best locations to visit. Out of the choices, two are situated in Scotland.
The first Scottish destination to be named is the Cairngorms mountain range in the eastern Highlands. According to the magazine, it is ideal for those after "wide-scale rewilding and vast open spaces".

In terms of places to stay around the Cairngorms, Gairnshiel Lodge and The Fife Arms were named as highlights. The former consists of self-catered accommodation, while the latter is a luxury hotel that was recently named among "Scotland's best country house hotels".
The second Scottish destination to be named among the top places to go in the UK and Ireland this year by Condé Nast Traveler is Edinburgh. According to the publication, Scotland's capital is perfect for travellers looking for "intriguing new architecture and a clutch of sharp hotel openings".
Among the hotels singled out by Condé Nast Traveler is the new W hotel in the city's St James Quarter, the company's first hotel in Scotland.
