Ruth Langsford is reportedly in line to make a surprising return to This Morning, two years after she and husband Eamonn Holmes lost their regular role on the show. According to a new report, the producers of This Morning have been in touch with Ruth about a possible return which comes after Philip Schofield’s exit from the show in May. Sources are now claiming Ruth will be offered another stint as presenter in the same week that it was also claimed producers decided to make Holly Willoughby the centre of the show.They have apparently arranged for her to host with different colleagues rather than just the one.
Ruth and her husband, Eamonn had a regular Friday slot on This Morning and covered for Phil and Holly during the school holidays from 2006. However in 2021, they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on Fridays but stayed as holiday cover. Just a year later, Eamonn left for a new job on GB news.
Ruth decided to stay with ITV as a panellist on Loose Women and she occasionally hosts This Morning with Rylan Clark-Neal. But that could be about to change, according to Bella magazine a source claimed that Ruth had been “approached by a This Morning producer” about returning to the show, which has “caught her off guard”.
