Russell Brand 's PR agency has removed his profile from their websites after he denied 'serious' allegations put to him.
Last night, the comedian made a statement on his YouTube channel ahead on Channel 4 Dispatches show, which airs tonight, saying his 'transparency regarding his promiscuity' has been 'metastasized into something criminal' – but didn't go into detail about the allegations put to him in a letter and email.
And following his statement, Russell's PR firm MBC PR and talent agent Tavistock Wood no longer advertise the 49-year-old as a client on their websites, however, it's understood MBC PR still represents him, writes The Mirror.
Russell's reps have been contacted for comment.
The father-of-two issued a lengthy statement denying 'serious' and 'criminal' allegations, which he didn't specify, but claimed are a 'co-ordinated attack by the media'.
Russell told the camera that this wasn't his usual type of video and that he had received "extremely disturbing" letter and an email.
He said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.
"But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous.
