Witnesses have told of their horror after a bus crashed into a cafe on Piccadilly Gardens. Ambulance chiefs have confirmed there are a 'number of casualties' after the Diamond bus ploughed into T4 bubble tea shop on Monday afternoon.
Eye witness Ellie-Mae Chapman said she saw at least three people injured following the crash at 1.15pm. She added: "I had seen the driver quickly turning right , then I had heard the crash suddenly and people started to rush over. I could see people trying to help and the police arrived very quickly after and started to get all pedestrians away."
A member of staff at Tegtat bakery, next door to T4, said: "I was working on the till and just heard a big noise. I went outside and the bus had crashed into T4.
