A Premier League rule change on the amount of yellow cards needed before a manager is suspended led to Erik ten Hag's Manchester United ban.
Ten Hag received a caution on Saturday against Luton Town meaning he has picked up three bookings so far this season. The Dutchman must now serve a one-match touchline ban against Everton after the international break.
Last year, the threshold before a suspension for managers was four bookings but in a bid to crack down on dissent this has been changed. Eight bookings in total will lead to a two-match ban for Ten Hag while 16 will see him sent to a FA hearing.

Post-match, Ten Hag reflected on his booking: "Yes, that's the way [it is], so I have to accept that. It’s not nice but I’m sure we’ll prepare for Everton and my coaching staff will take over, they are very competent to do the job."
"[I was booked for] a moment so clear, it was a throw-in," he later added. "But it was the second time. I was on top of it and it was so clear and obvious [it was] our ball. It was my remark, therefore, I got booked."
Ten Hag may have been frustrated by the officiating at Old Trafford but he will have been pleased with his team's performance. Despite plenty of chances, it was Victor Lindelof who scored the all-important winner as he fired home from close range just before the hour mark.
The result moved United up to sixth prior to the international break.
