Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas does not believe that Erik ten Hag is the right manager to take Manchester United forward, questioning his approach to recruitment.
Ten Hag has been under increasing pressure in recent weeks following the club's underwhelming start to the season. United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and face an uphill struggle to progress to the last-16 of the Champions League.
In Ten Hag's defence, he has had to contend with a plethora of different injury issues, many of which have robbed him of key players. He has struggled to deploy a settled team, particularly in defence, constantly having to make changes to his side.

The majority of United supporters, though, are still in Ten Hag's corner, outlining why the club needs to stick by him and see through the long-term plan he is trying to implement. There is also hope that the impending arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe will boost his chances of adding to the squad.
However, Jenas, who is sometimes a pundit on Match of the Day, has doubts that Ten Hag can continue to occupy the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford, claiming that he doesn't think he's 'good enough'. He has also hit out at his preferences when it comes to making new signings.
"I don't see players who have chucked the towel in, I just see players who don't know what to do," Jenas told TalkSport. "There's no cohesion.
"I don't think he's good enough. I've not seen anything in his style of management that makes me think he's the right man
