A Manchester-based police officer has been sacked for 'seeking the services of a sex worker' while on a training course in London staying in accommodation funded by his force.

The actions of a Greater Manchester Police officer captured on video dragging a homeless man in a sleeping bag along the ground 'fell below the standard we expect', the force has said.
The officer was hauled in front of a superintendent after the footage and incident emerged and told her actions were 'unacceptable'.
GMP said the officer - and other police staff - also 'received refresher training on how to deal with similar situations in the future' as a result. The officer's reaction has also been strongly criticised by a homelessness charity.

The footage was filmed outside Manchester Town Hall last September and also appears to show the female office treading on the man's stomach, the BBC reported. The corporation said he was a refugee from Sudan and had been sleeping rough outside the town hall with others at the time of the incident.
In an interview with BBC News, the 31-year-old said he was left injured by her actions. He said: "I was telling her I need to sleep. But she stamped on my stomach with her foot. It caused me problems - I had a fever and in the following hours I had blood in my urine."
The BBC reported the man, who had been in the UK for more than three years and has been granted a right to remain, said he went to hospital after the incident, but recovered.
In a statement, GMP said the officer's actions were 'dealt with'.
