A road on the border of Wigan and Cheshire is fully shut this morning after a crash involving five vehicles.
The smash happened on Winwick Lane, which links Lowton to the M6, at around 6am, police said. It involved three cars, a van and a HGV.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The road remains shut between the A572 at Lowton and the M6 at junction 22.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, it closed due to the 'accident and ice'. Police said gritting is being carried out on the carriageway.
In a statement, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 6am on Wednesday 6 December police were called to a collision on the A579 Winwick Lane on the border between Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
"Officers from both forces attended and on arrival they found the collision involved five vehicles, a black Ford panel van, a blue Renault Clio, a HGV, a red Suzuki Swift and a blue ford Fiesta. There were no reports of any injuries.
"The road is currently closed while the vehicles are recovered and gritting is undertaken."
