Piers Morgan hit back after his night at the National Television Awards saw him lose in his category, mocked by host Joel Dommett and booed by the audience. The presenter was nominated for the TV Interviews NTA but lost out to Graham Norton.
At the start of the ceremony on Tuesday (September 5) Piers' name was met by a chorus of boos when host Joel told the audience he was in attendance - and it didn't get much better for him from there. Introducing the famous faces at London's O2 Arena, Joel announced: "Piers Morgan is here!"
As boos rang out he continued "Hey, everyone, say what you like about Piers Morgan..." before trailing off and turning his attention to fellow nominee Louis Theroux.

Piers, who was nominated for Piers Morgan Uncensored on Talk TV, posted on Twitter (X) at just after 9pm to share the news that he was on his way home. The ceremony was more than two-and-a-half hours long, with the final award for Serial Drama handed out at 10.35pm.
The former GMB presenter said: "Got the Tube in searing heat.. got mocked by a host I’ve never heard of… got booed by an audience of shrieking banshees… got beaten by Graham bloody Norton.. and now getting the first limo I can find to get the hell outta here. Thanks for a great night @OfficialNTAs."
