Bridgerton? It’s the question we’ve all been wondering in the lead-up to the latest drop of the Netflix show. Well, that and: How soon do Penelope () and Colin () hook up?!?The status of Phoebe Dynevor, who plays the eldest Bridgerton sister, has been uncertain ever since her onscreen husband Regé-Jean Page (Simon Basset) declared he wasn’t returning for season 2. The show went on without him, with throwaway lines that placed him at home rather than dealing with the Ton.

Strange things have been happening in the “ton”, dear reader, and even Lady Whistledown herself would be surprised at how dramatically one of the Bridgerton sisters has changed since we last saw her in season two of the hugely successful Netflix series. Francesca – who is the younger sister of Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict (Luke Thompson), Colin (Luke Newton), Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie), and older sister to Gregory and Hyacinth – looks very different in the third season as she is played by a new actress, Hannah Dodd, who replaces Ruby Stokes in the role. Ruby actually left Bridgerton midway through filming the second season, due to other commitments.

After two years of waiting, Bridgerton’s third chapter is finally here. Released on Netflix on Thursday, 16 May, the series sees Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughlan) romance take the centre stage and, even better, it’s released in two parts, meaning there’s twice the opportunity to watch their love story play out. But since its first release in 2020, Bridgerton has seen some famous faces take to the screen, including Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor.
