Paul O’Grady's close friend has opened up about the day the TV star passed away, revealing they'd had the "perfect afternoon" together at Paul's home before his death. Malcolm Prince, who was also Paul's producer, paid tribute to the late Lily Savage star in a new interview, where he explained how the pair had been "laughing" and "reminiscing" all afternoon at Paul's home just hours before he passed away. "On the day that Paul died, I was at his home, having a cup of tea," Malcolm told Radio Times.
He continued: "We were meant to be making plans for our new show, due to launch on Boom Radio, but really we were laughing, reminiscing, plotting, doing what we always did." The producer also added: "It was the perfect afternoon. When I left, he gave me a hug and said, 'I’ll talk to you tomorrow.'" Malcolm went on to say he and Paul had "two hours of fun" and just "two hours later he was gone" as he sadly paid tribute to the late TV presenter. He also took to Instagram to share the final photograph of him and Paul together and expressed his sadness over his friend's death.
"Our last photo together Oh how I’ll miss him. My thoughts are with Andre, Paul’s family and friends Farewell my friend x," Malcolm began by writing. He went on to share a "few words" about Paul, writing: "Yesterday afternoon, I popped round to Paul’s for a good old catch-up.
It was just the two of us. Surrounded by his beloved dogs, he was laughing, smiling, and full of life. "He was so proud of ‘Annie’, so happy to be back on Boom Radio, and he was looking forward to so many new projects.
"And now he’s gone. I can’t believe it. We have lost a unique talent - and I’ve lost a dear friend.
