Paul O'Grady's close friend Amanda Mealing has opened up on the TV star's wish for his funeral. Presenter and Lily Savage star Paul, who passed away this week "unexpectedly but peacefully" at the age of 67, told those attending to have "a good time." "He’d hate it if everyone was morose," Amanda, who starred in Holby City as Connie Beauchamp, told The Mirror. 'Whatever happens, Paul’s funeral will be a celebration of his life and it will be full of laughter.
'He just told us to have a good time – he’d hate it if everyone was mawkish and morose. He would just say, "I don’t care, I won’t be here! Do whatever you want.'" This comes after Paul's daughter Sharon Mousley spoke out on her father's death from her home in Liverpool. She said that understandably she and her mum Diane are "distraught" by his passing.
She told the Mail Online: "What can I say? We are all devastated, I am, my mum is, everyone is." The mum-of-two also emotionally added: "We loved him and we will miss him. We are all distraught." Paul's sad passing was announced on the 29th March by his husband Andre Portasio. In a heartfelt statement, he said: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.
“We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. “I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.” The presenter has received an outpouring of tributes and kind words from those who knew and loved him.TV presenter Lorraine Kelly hailed the For
