Meghan Markle is expected "never to set foot in the UK again" as she is aware of "how unpopular she is", according to a royal expert. The Express reports that Prince Harry is set to head back to Britain on September 7, but there has been no mention about his wife joining him on this trip.
Meghan last visited the UK in 2022, when Queen Elizabeth II passed away aged 96. And now, royal author Phil Dampier has claimed that she may never come back.
He told GB News: "I don't think she will ever set foot in this country again. I think she knows how unpopular she is."
This news comes as the hopes of any resolution between Prince Harry and his brother and dad on his upcoming trip appear to be crushed, as Prince William and King Charles appear to be away during Harry's visit next month.
It also looks like Prince Harry may be forced to ask his father an awkward question when he returns to the UK. Due to the King evicting Harry and Meghan from their UK home, Frogmore Cottage, earlier this year, Harry will most likely have to ask for permission to stay at one of the Royal Family's residences.
Prince Harry is set to attend a charity awards ceremony for WellChild in London, of which he has been a patron for the past 15 years and has attended the awards 11 times previously.
Although it appears Meghan won't be joining him on this trip, the pair are planning to attend the Invictus Games together this year, which are being hosted in Dusseldorf.
In a new statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for Meghan and Harry said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to attend the Invictus Games 2023 in Dusseldorf. The Duke will be in attendance throughout the entirety of the games and will be joined by the Duchess shortly after the games begin."
