Jamie Redknapp says Liverpool FC’s recent form has put pressure on Manchester United’s pursuit of a top-four finish. Jurgen Klopp saw his side beat Brentford 1-0 on Saturday to go within a point of United, who have played two games fewer - a sixth consecutive win for Liverpool who have just three games remaining.
United have five to go, starting with West Ham on Sunday. The last time the Reds lost back-to-back league games was during the opening two fixtures of the season against Brighton and Brentford.
They lost to the former 1-0 in the return on Thursday and Erik ten Hag will be hoping that history doesn’t not repeat itself. West Ham are looking over their shoulder as they attempt to fend off relegation.

They have lost their last three and are just four points from the drop zone as a result of their dip in form. They are expected to be a tough test on home soil and United will be wary of another banana skin result.
Redknapp says Liverpool’s form means United will feel added pressure not to drop points as the run-in heats up. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “Momentum is key in sport and if you can get that in games - you can see what it means to Jurgen Klopp.
“I think in April they were 12 points behind the top four and 15 behind Manchester United, now it is just a point, albeit with the two games in hand. But they will put the pressure on Manchester United with the way their form is at the moment.”
United have won just one Premier League game away from home since February 12, defeating Nottingham Forest last month. They did, however, beat West Ham 1-0 in the reverse fixture in October.
