Manchester United striker Amad says Erik ten Hag facilitated his loan move to Sunderland so he could “get more confidence” and return to Old Trafford “more ready”.

Amad has been named as the Black Cats Young Player of the Year and has been invited by United to next month’s FA Cup final against Manchester City. He is aiming to get there a few days earlier with Sunderland for the play-off final in their hunt for Premier League promotion.

"So we are really strong with them, we mentor them, we follow them, we have communication over the season, especially
