The much-anticipated Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards, which honours the regional hospitality industry's most talented, will be back at a new venue and a new time of year.
The awards, which intend to highlight as many excellent food and drink businesses and hospitality professionals as possible, usually take place in September, but this year's edition will be held on Monday, January 29 2024 at New Century.
Back in May, organisers confirmed the actual festival, which takes place ahead of the awards ceremony, would be 'having a breather' for the first time in the events' 25-year history, bar missing a year to the pandemic.

Speaking at the time, festival director Alexa Stratton-Powell said: “After 25 years of staging the Manchester Food and Drink Festival we will be taking a break in 2023. Creating the festival is a labour of love and as a small team we wanted to take a breather and regroup ahead of bringing the festival back in 2024.
“The awards will continue to celebrate our wonderful hospitality industry."
Over the years, the festival has brought a host of world-famous names to the city, with the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Tom Kerridge and Michel Roux all having previously appeared. The event would usually take place in Cathedral Gardens in the city centre, with bars, food vendors and entertainment during the week, as well as satellite events held across the city.
Now, the focus for organisers will turn to the 2023 awards and the ceremony in late January. Each year, the awards have honoured long-standing heroes of the Manchester food scene as well as championed new talent with categories like Best Newcomer and Best
