Kevin De Bruyne has been suffering with a groin injury while playing for Manchester City recently, his Belgium manager has confirmed.
De Bruyne looks set to miss City's FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle at the weekend, with Belgium leaving him out of their upcoming squad for the March international break. The playmaker has spent most of the season out with a problematic hamstring injury, returning in January and looking to make up for lost time with a string of impressive performances.
He recently suffered a setback, but not a repeat of the hamstring that kept him out for so long, but has started three of the last four games. De Bruyne was left as an unused substitute against Brentford last month when Pep Guardiola confirmed he had some 'niggles' in his other hamstring, before he returned to the starting line up at Luton to provide four assists for Erling Haaland.

He then started the Manchester derby win over United, was rested against Copenhagen, and assisted John Stones against Liverpool - before reacting angrily to coming off. Now, Belgium coach Dominic Tedesco has left him out of his squad to face England and Ireland, explaining that the measure is precautionary after being informed by City this week of an underlying groin injury.
