Married At First Sight UK star Ella Morgan is 'set to become Strictly's first transgender contestant after signing with the same management as Zara McDermott', according to reports. Ella, 29, looks set to carve out a career in showbiz after appearing on MAFS in 2023, where she was originally partnered with Nathanial Valentino, 36, before she embarked on a romance with another contestant, JJ Slater, 30.
If she has indeed signed with the same management as Zara McDermott, she's in good hands, as Zara has made the transition from Love Island contestant in 2018, to fronting a number of BBC documentaries, working with the Princess of Wales, and appearing on Strictly this year. Zara is in a relationship with former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, who won the latest series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, which ended on December 10.
A source close to Ella told MailOnline that the star is keen to represent the transgender community on BBC Strictly Come Dancing, which the insider said would be a "dream come true".
They revealed: "Ella has been promised a meeting with BBC bosses to discuss the prospect of her joining the Strictly cast next year. "It would be a dream come true for her, obviously she would adore wearing the sparkly costumes but also the message it sends to the nation about her transition...
all she has ever wanted is to be accepted. "Strictly has never been afraid of being inclusive or alienating viewers and that has worked in their favour, as now it's drawn in new audiences." The source went on to say that BBC bosses want to continue "breaking boundaries" and that a transgender contestant will "certainly be a Strictly first".
