Love Island star Chris Hughes was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night (February 21) but rather than fret about himself, the 31 year old has praised the NHS for their "incredible" care.
The star - who appeared on season three of the hit ITV dating show and was paired up with fellow Islander Olivia Attwood - told fans on Instagram about the scare he had. Chris wrote: "Took a turn Wednesday, the NHS staff were incredible. Not just caring, friendly and all the things you'd expect, but more the way they conduct themselves.
"The situations they deal with day in day out, and the way they're spoken to on occasions shocked me.
Their patience is incredible and the staff are amazing. Really are unsung heroes so thank you," he continued. While it's unclear why Chris was admitted into hospital in the first place, he also included an image of him lying on a bed hooked up to various machines whilst sleeping.
He also thanked his friend to sat beside him for 10 hours through the night. Chris then reassured fans that he was 'on the mend'. The reality star first shot to fame in 2017 for his stint in the villa and was known for cracking viewers up as he found love and friendship inside the famous villa.
While he did leave with ex-girlfriend Olivia Attwood on his arm, it was his friendship with barber Kem Cetinay which drew viewers in. However, chatting to OK! recently, Chris has admitted that it's not so easy to stay in touch with his fellow former islanders. "I speak to Kem every now and then, and Montana [Brown], she has obviously just had a baby so I've chatted to her.
