Loose Women has been cancelled for the rest of the week in a major schedule shake-up for ITV. From Tuesday 12 March to Friday 15 March, the panel-based programme will not be on air, as coverage of the horse racing at Cheltenham Festival will be shown instead.
However, other morning ITV shows, including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning will air as normal this week, prior to the racing. Loose Women is expected to return on Monday, 18 March.
Loose Women fans also had to deal with an episode of the show being cut 15 minutes short on March 6, to make way for Budget Day.
The news was announced on This Morning last Wednesday, by Craig Doyle, who said: "The show is slightly shorter today because it's Budget Day. We are all going to be so much richer at the end of today." His co-presenter Josie Gibson, 39, then said: "I hope so." Meanwhile, over on This Morning, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard made their debut as permanent hosts of the show on Monday, 11 March, however, Cat was forced to apologise after making a huge blunder live on-air.
She suffered an unfortunate mishap as she read out the number for the phone-in, as she missed out a zero, reading out '0800' rather than '08000'. She was quickly corrected by Ben, as she apologised for her blunder, and said she must have had the number for ChildLine in her head, as she said: "That's where I'm getting it from." As the show opened, the pair were happily chatting before turning to camera where Cat said: "We are so excited to be here." And Ben added he was feeling "giddy" as the show began.
The pair received a message from Ant McPartlin who gave Ben some advice on working with Cat.
