Joao Gomes to Man United - Brazilian media agree on Casemiro replacement and Flamengo windfall

Manchester United have already started looking at possible options for Casemiro who could depart the club in the summer, and Joao Gomes has emerged as a potential replacement.
The 32-year-old has had a disappointing season so far, which has been hit by injuries along the way. Casemiro was sidelined for two-and-a-half months earlier in the season with a hamstring problem and has withdrawn from the Brazil squad with a muscular injury.
Despite still having two years left on his contract with an option for a further year, he could move on at the end of the season. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and is keen to continue transforming United's football hierarchy, having already made a number of changes behind the scenes.

The latest name to be linked with an on-pitch move to Old Trafford is the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder. Gomes has been in fine form this campaign and received a call-up to the Brazil squad for this week's international break.

Manchester United are prepared to pay £40m to complete the transfer of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes.
A club that could benefit from a transfer is Flamengo. The Rio based club which formed the midfielder is entitled to a 10 percent fee if a sale was to happen. In addition to that, the Cariocas are also entitled to FIFA's solidarity mechanism for being Gomes' first club.
Having been at the club since the age of eight, Flamengo would pocked another four percent (£1.6m) if a sale materialised.
