EXCLUSIVE: Actor-comedian and writer Jamie Lee (Crashing) and actor-comedian Nikki Glaser (FBoy Island) are set to star in and executive produce Unsettling, a half-hour, single-camera comedy, which is in development for Prime Video, from Warner Bros. TV, Bill Lawrence‘s studio-based Doozer Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios.
Written by Lee, Unsettling is described as a heartwarming and refreshingly honest show about two childless best friends (Lee, Glaser) in their 30s who decide to “go in” on a baby together, and navigate their lives as brand new platonic co-parents.
Lee and Aseem Batra, who got her writing start on Lawrence’s Scrubs, serve as co-showrunners of Unsettling; which the two executive produce with Glaser as well as Doozer’s Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer.
Unsettling also extends Lee’s relationship with Lawrence, Doozer and WBTV; she was a writer-producer on their hit Apple comedy series Ted Lasso, which was co-created/exec produced by Lawrence, sharing in the show’s two Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy wins as well as WGA and PGA Awards. She is repped by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver Thompson.
In addition to her standup career, Glaser has an extensive resume as a podcast and radio host and TV personality, recently hosting the reality series FBoy Island. She is repped by UTA, Brillstein and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.
I Feel Bad creator Batra most recently served as co-executive producer on the Fox animated comedy Duncanville. She is repped by WME.
