This Morning viewers were left asking 'why' after Alison Hammond was replaced mid-way through Monday's programme (November 20). She was fronting the show alongside This Morning regular Dermot O'Leary - but in a royal shake-up, Sarah, Duchess of York, joined them to co-host segments of the programme.
The duchess, 64, affectionately known as Fergie, has enjoyed previous visits to the This Morning studio and was guest editor, as well as co-host, of Monday’s show. She helped to oversee the live two-and-a-half hour programme, which delved into topics that sit close to her heart.
These included a look into the importance of defibrillators, the best way to rehome a dog and how to protect your skin. She offered relationship advice to callers during the show's popular phone-in segment and there was also an interview with Sir Cliff Richard, who recently released orchestral album Cliff With Strings – My Kinda Life, celebrating his 65th year in the music industry.

However This Morning viewers were left perplexed by the change - especially when, halfway through the show, Alison disappeared and Fergie took her place next to Dermot. At other points, the trio presented segments together, before Fergie disappeared. She later rejoined Alison and Dermot for the show's cooking segment.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans slammed the 'bizarre' format and organisation of the show and questioned why Fergie was enlisted. @Jedi_Magpie_11 asked: "Can someone please explain where Alison has gone and why
