James Martin gave an emotional update on his cancer journey during a show in Liverpool.
The This Morning chef, 51, thanked fans for their support as he revealed that he will be taking a short career break to focus on his health. James announced in July that he had been diagnosed with facial cancer a few years ago, and has now given an update to fans during a show at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall "On a personal note, I just wanted to say thank you for 30 years of television," he said, prompting a standing ovation from his adoring supporters. "For me personally, I've been through a lot of s**t with cancer but I'm getting sorted at the end of next month," he said.
"I will be back fighting at the end of February but I'm going on a little bit of a break to get that sorted. I just wanted to say thank you for all your support and all your messages." It comes after James found himself in a sticky situation in July when a recording of him using strong language leaked online. The TV chef was recorded losing his temper with the crew during the filming of his Saturday Morning show.
In the recording, James is heard complaining about a blocked drain at his home during filming, claiming it was costing him £30,000. "I am absolutely furious, beyond belief. It's my home, it's my house.
It's my f**ing house," he says in the 15-minute long audio. "Nobody listens, nobody f**king listens do they. I will not put up with this, this is b*llocks." Later, James took to Twitter to say sorry to the crew, admitting he was having a tough time in his personal life.
