ITV This Morning star left 'terrified' after family forced to 'hide from mall shooter'

This Morning star Cat Deeley was left “terrified” after her family were told to “hide” in a shopping mall by the FBI.
The 47 year old has recently moved back to the UK after living in the USA with her family – husband Patrick Kielty and children Milo, seven and James, five, – for more than 15 years. Upon her return, the presenter recalled a day when Patrick and Milo had gone to Century City Mall in LA, and the FBI turned up with guns, telling everyone to take cover under the counters as a shooter was on the loose. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Cat recalled: “They shut down the centre.
I got a call from Paddy, saying, “They’re taking us out through the fire exits, but nobody can get to their car. If we walk to a junction, can you come and get us?” “He wanted to keep Milo calm, so I didn’t understand the enormity of what was happening. As I was driving I began to see helicopters, news vans, firemen and SWAT [armed police response] squads.
It makes me go funny now. It was terrifying.” Cat added that when she found the pair, her husband Paddy was more shaken than Milio, who “didn’t properly understand” things at the time, as he was quite young. Later, Patrick properly explained to her what had happened saying that they ended up in a Shake Shack's kitchen, and how Peppa Pig managed to help save the day for them.
She explained: “He was like, “OK, Milo, let’s watch some Peppa Pig on my phone.” The kids never get to do that normally. Peppa Pig saved the day!” The news comes just weeks after Cat joined the This Morning team, and hosted the ITV show with Rylan for a few days. Cat made an impression on the viewers, as they called for the duo to become the regular hosts of the daytime programme.
