Coronation Street fans have been left in shock after a devastating twist for Gemma Winter on Friday night. Recently, Gemma had been worried about her stepson Joseph's health and took him to the hospital multiple times, only to be told by doctors that he was fine.
This week, things took a scary turn when Gemma made Joseph drink lavender tea in the hope it would make him feel better after he complained of feeling ill.
However, things got worse when Joseph passed out and on Friday, Gemma was accused of poisoning the youngster by a child protection officer.
The situation became even more heartbreaking when child protection officer Caitlin explained that Gemma will need to move out of the family home and can only see the children under supervision while she conducts an investigation. If Gemma fails to comply, Joseph will be taken into care, reports The Mirror.
Following the emotional scenes, viewers have predicted a twist and it involves Joseph's grandmother Linda. In upcoming scenes, Linda will be returning to the cobbles and fans think she might be involved in what has been going on.
One soap watcher said: "#Corrie I know who's behind this Joseph business! Grandma Linda!" while another viewer added: "#Corrie did Joseph say something? He looked a bit shifty at the hospital." Next week, the drama continues when Joseph complains of a headache and Gemma is shocked to find child protection officer Caitlin at her door. Later in the week, Chesney apologises to Gemma for his behaviour, but their romantic moment is ruined when he reveals that Joseph's grandmother Linda is coming to stay.
