Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden told her followers that she has “got her confidence back” after a stunning hair transformation amid her cancer treatment. The Strictly Come Dancing pro, 33, received the news she had breast cancer back in May and has been keeping her followers updated on her battle ever since. Recently Amy emotionally revealed that she had decided to shave her head amid continued chemotherapy.
Now in her most recent Instagram post, the star has shared her stunning transformation as she debuts her brand new wig. Amy, who has managed to remain in high spirits throughout her brave battle, was seen grinning from ear to ear as she showed off the long brown locks.
The dancer look particularly bright in a multicoloured dress as she posed for a picture in the wig shop. Captioning the sweet snaps, Amy said: “HAD THE BEST MORNING! “Two beautiful, gorgeous wigs from @amberjeanshop @amberjeanrowan.
I feel like Amy.
Thank you so much.
This is one of them, guess the colour of my other one? It’s not what you would expect. "They have given me my confidence back. #wigs #amberjean #breastcancer #hairloss #chemo #confident #feellikemeagain #grateful”.
Amy’s friends and followers were quick to send their compliments as fellow pro dancers Dianne Buswell said: “omg stunning”, and Michelle Tsiakkas penned: “Gorgeous girl!”. Some of her fans tried to guess what colour the other wig would be as one penned: “Perfect! I’m going red with the other one x”, while another said: “Is the other bleach blonde @amy_dowden orrrrrrrrr (that’s me rolling my r’s) maybe dark?!”. Amy revealed her shaved head at the end of September when she shared a joyous video of herself dancing with a number of family members.
