A dad says he was 'left for dead' and 'covered in blood' after being attacked as he walked home from the pub. Daniel Page, a dad-of-two from Denton, Tameside, had been out with friends for drinks when he started walking home along Lake Road in the early hours of Saturday (November 4).
He said he noticed a silver car parked across the road, with a 'commotion' happening inside. Daniel said he 'kept his head down' and continued walking, before looking up to see a young man standing in front of him. "I was on my own and walking home like I do every weekend," Daniel, 40, told the Manchester Evening News.
"It's a nice area. I had my hands in my pockets and my head down. I just wanted to get in and go to bed. As I got towards my house, I noticed in the corner of my eye a little silver car with people in it. That was all I noticed at first.

"As I approached, about 20 feet away from the car, on the opposite side of the road, I heard some commotion from inside and then all of a sudden, there's a guy who's darted out and is standing right in front of me.
"There were no words exchanged between us both when he hit me. At first, it was like a punch in the face. Instantly there was blood everywhere. As I'm holding my face, I see two girls get out of the car and walk off. They had left me for dead."
Daniel said his attacker got back in the car, which sped off. Although police have not confirmed if a weapon was used, Daniel believes he was stabbed with a sharp object due to the 3mm gash left to his forehead.
