A woman has been rushed to hospital after she was pulled from the River Irwell by fire crews this evening.
Emergency services raced to Frederick Road and Cromwell Road in Salford at around 4pm on Wednesday evening (November 8) to 'reports of a female in need'.
Firefighters pulled the woman from the water before she was taken to hospital in an ambulance. The exact details of her condition are not yet known.

Pictures show a large emergency services presence and police cordon in place as police, fire crews, and paramedics worked to bring the woman to safety.
Investigations centred around Frederick Road in Lower Broughton, next to the River Irwell and near to the junction with Lower Broughton Road, but have now been scaled back.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At 4pm this afternoon, firefighters were called to reports of female in need of help in the River Irwell, near to Cromwell Road and Frederick Road.
“Four fire engines from Broughton, Blackley and Eccles fire stations, alongside the Technical Response Unit from Leigh, arrived quickly at the scene. Crews retrieved a female casualty from the water and applied medical aid before they were conveyed to hospital via the care of colleagues at North West Ambulance Service. GMFRS were at the scene for two hours.”
In a statement, GMP have said: "At around 3.45pm on Wednesday 8 November 2023, officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare of a female on Lower Broughton Road, Salford.
