Hibernian boss Lee Johnson says he expects Manchester United defender Will Fish to join his club on a season-long loan next Saturday.
The defender was not included in Erik ten Hag’s US tour squad but is set to feature in the academy side that is due to take on Wrexham in San Diego on Wednesday, having featured in both of United’s friendlies so far this summer.
The Manchester Evening News revealed earlier this month that Fish has agreed to join Hibernian on loan for a second time after helping the club to a Europa Conference League spot last term.
Hibs manager Johnson has confirmed that the details have now been agreed albeit pen is yet to be put to paper. He is anticipating Fish to arrive at Easter Road next weekend.

He said, as per Football Scotland: “The likelihood is we’re getting Will Fish. Has a contract been signed? No. But have all the plans been detailed? Yes.
“I am very confident he’ll be with us come the 29th of July, I think it is. He’s playing a game for the Man Utd second XI, they need him for this other game. So at the moment we have to just wait but it’s good.”
Fish worked his way into the starting XI at Hibs last season, playing just three of his 20 outings before Christmas.
His first start came against Hearts on January 2 at right-back before starting all 17 final league games at centre-half, chipping in with three goals.
The 20-year-old has just one senior appearance for United, coming on for a cameo against Wolves on the final day of the 2020/21 season.
