The children and staff at Broxburn Primary School’s Early Years Centre have been celebrating an excellent report card.

Pupils from Armadale Academy have been making a real difference in their communities in the run-up to Christmas.
A number of classes participated in a ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ appeal, which was led by the school’s Equity Coordinator, Pamela Lundberg.
This saw students bringing in items over a period of weeks in December which were put together to create Christmas hampers for the local community.
Over 30 hampers were completed and will be distributed amongst members of the wider Armadale community.
Staff and students as well as parents and carers were also recently involved in helping the local charity River Kids with their annual Christmas Toy Appeal. This received a huge amount of donations as well as financial support from the school community. This was all coordinated by Rebekah Scott: the school’s Family Link Worker and Mrs Ball with additional support from the S6 charities committee.
In addition to the Reverse Advent Calendar and Riverkids Christmas Toy Appeal, the staff and students recently enjoyed yet another instalment of ‘Strictly Dale’.
This now annual event brings down the curtain on the school term and sees a number of staff couples strutting their stuff on the dancefloor all whilst under the watchful eye of the judging panel.
This hugely popular event proved another major hit amongst the staff and pupils, and really succeeds in getting everyone in the school into the festive spirit.
Finally, the S6 Charities Committee have arranged a dress down day taking place on the 22 nd of December for students and staff. Any donations received from this will be passed on to the West Lothian Foodbank to be shared amongst members of the local community.
