Dangerous concrete was first found in the building in 2017, and managed in line with industry standards until August when government guidance was updated. This led to the theatre's closure last September.
Stockport council has now appointed a contractor - Robertson Construction - to carry out repairs after providing £300,000 for the work. Phase one of the work includes the foyer, theatre, toilets and back of house areas.
