Love Island star Georgia Steel has spoken out to defend her former co-star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu who is currently starring on Celebrity Big Brother. Ekin-Su, 29, became the target of trolls after Thursday's episode saw her break down in tears when she was nominated at the Celebrity Big Brother fun fair. Her family said on the star's own Instagram Stories: "What made last night a thousand times harder though is seeing and listening to hateful comments, trolling, name calling and physical abuse threats.
Nobody deserves this behaviour and to read some of what we did last night." Now Georgia, who recently finished fourth with Toby Aromolaran on ITV2’s All Star spin-off of the dating show, has taken to social media to defend her friend. Sharing a post to her Story with her 1.8 million followers, Georgia said: "I just wanted to come on here and show some love and support for Ekin-Su. "I have been on the receiving end of trolling and it's honestly not OK.
It can really affect you. Yet trolling doesn't just affect one individual, it affects families and friends. "Sending hateful comments and threats is just not acceptable.
Having an opinion and trolling is two completely different things." She continued by calling for there to be a stop to online trolling. Georgia's announcements comes after she received backlash from the public when she returned from appearing on Love Island All Stars. She added: "People cannot continue to get away with hiding behind a username, sending horrible, anonymous messages without any consequences.
"Ekin is a human being with feelings. People forget that like Love Island, CBB is a reality TV show, it's entertainment. No one deserves this.
