Fans of the Five Guys burger chain have been defending the firm amid a row over its free peanuts. Anyone who's been to one of the diners will have noticed they have big boxes of nuts that customers can munch on during their visit.
But the presence of the nuts recently sparked anger with one visitor, who suggested it's not the safest option for those with allergies.
Sharing a photo on Facebook showing a huge box of nuts near a Five Guys counter, the customer said: "Ohhhh you got a peanut allergy, how about a big box of free peanuts to greet you upfront!"

While a few people agreed it could well be problematic, thousands of Five Guys fans responded - many of them pointing out that the branches always have a sign on the door to alert people, and that as the company cooks with peanut oil, chances are anyone with a nut allergy wouldn't be going there anyway.
"Nobody who can read is going into Five Guys with a peanut allergy," said one. "There's a big ass sign on the door."
Another said: "It's not their responsibility to know what you eat, but at least you know there is peanuts as you walk in, and that way you can walk yourself out as well."
While a third said: "It’s been Five Guys thing for years. They openly have them out for you to enjoy and fry in peanut oil. Pretty sure they get both from the same company. They have signs located everywhere physically and online."
But clearly not everyone is aware of the policy and one mum thanked the poster for alerting her.
"Honestly never been there," she said. "Didn't know about the peanuts. Glad I do now, because my daughter has a peanut allergy and we are trying to learn about places
