EastEnders aired a shocking Ryan Malloy twist on Tuesday night's episode as he returned to Albert Square after six years amid Lily Slater's pregnancy storyline. Viewers will recall that Whitney Dean called her brother earlier this week to tell him about his estranged 12-year-old daughter Lily's baby news. And during Tuesday's episode, a stunned Ryan made his long awaited return to Albert Square as he met with both Stacey Slater and Lily.
During the meet up, Ryan gifted Lily with a £50 voucher as he suggested going shopping while he offered to help Stacey out, who refused his kind gesture. However, despite Ryan appearing to have good intentions it was revealed at the end of the episode he was planning to take Lily and the baby away from Albert Square. Speaking to his prison officer partner Helen on the phone, Ryan said: "Hey, listen, what you said last night...
you still want to go through with it? "Lily and the baby are going to be better off with us, trust me, Helen, this place... she deserves better. I don't want to fight dirty but if I have to Helen.
I will do whatever it takes, alright?" Viewers will recall that Ryan left Albert Square for good in 2016 after being released from prison for killing Rob, who had exploited his sister Whitney, and he decided to relocate to Wakefield after finding love with prison officer Helen. Despite not returning in over six years, Ryan has been mentioned on the BBC One soap, as he wished Whitney a happy 30th birthday in December. It was announced earlier this year that actor Neil McDermott would be reprising his Ryan role and returning to the BBC One soap.
