Dumfries Comic Con returns with blockbuster show of heroes and villains

Dumfries Comic Con returned to the David Keswick Centre on Saturday with a blockbuster show of heroes and villains.
The third BGCP Comic Con in the town has been hailed a runaway success with hundreds of fans of all ages enjoying photo opportunities with a variety of characters and browsing more than 50 stall holders with comic books, artwork and toys on offer.
Visitors got to try arcade and console gaming, marvel at authentic movie and television props and take part in arts and crafts workshops.
There was the chance to meet Jimmy Vee, who is best known for his role as R2-D2 in the recent Star Wars movies as well as roles in The Witcher: Blood Origin, Rocketman, Harry Potter, Pan, Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Jimmy signed autographs and was up for having pictures taken by his fans.
Also greeting fans were Etienne Kubwabo (KE Comics), famed for his bestselling comic Beats of War, and Jim Alexander, who has written for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Darkhorse, 2000 AD and for Cartoon Network.
Jim also runs his own comic label Planet Jimbot which has produced Amongst the Stars (drawn by Mike Perkins), Wolf Country (drawn by Luke Cooper), the anthology Amazing & Fantastic Tales, GoodCopBadCop and sequel GoodCop.
Fans of one man art show, The Art of Fish, also got to meet him at Comic Con. Fish has worked on various licensed card sets for TOPPS, including Lucasfilm-approved Star Wars artwork.
There was a cosplay contest with
all ages turning up in their costumes and one fan took along his customised Joker and Harley Quinn car.
Fans also enjoyed meet and greets with Spider-Man, Hulk, Bluey, Sonic, Pikachu, Ghostbusters and Transformers, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
