A Scots school playground has been flooded with 'sewage' from a recurring problem which was first reported in August and has reportedly seen staff and pupils "getting sick". Westerton Primary School in Bearsden has had issues with flooding before but in August the murky water began to flow into the playground where the children spend their breaks.
The issue has been reported to East Dunbartonshire Council who reportedly told the school an old drain collapsed but it is claimed that plans to replace the drain made for October never took place. Now with the recent bad weather the playground is constantly awash with dirty 'sewage' water and kids are being warned not to go near it at playtimes.
A concerned whistleblower who wishes to remain anonymous told Glasgow Live: "The school is old and the drains have always flooded. The council usually comes to patch it up.
"This year it flooded and didn't stop. We've now realised that one of the drains has collapsed and the water doesn't flush away properly. The school now has sewage in the playground.
"The children have to walk around it to get to class. Since children like to play in puddles, that water is also going through the school. The council were contacted before the October break. They were very apologetic and said they were going to get it fixed.
"It is a big job to dig out the old drain and replace it with a new drain. However, nothing happened and it has been put back on the pile. Due to all this bad weather, it has been getting worse and worse."
Due to the infiltration of water from the drain, teachers are being asked to keep a close eye on kids in the playground to ensure they don't step foot into the 'sewage'.
They continued: "The children have been told they aren't allowed
