Ex-Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is being linked with a shock move to Real Madrid following a serious knee injury to Thibaut Courtois.
The 32-year-old De Gea is a free agent this summer after his contract at United expired following 12 years at Old Trafford. He left the Reds with almost 550 appearances for the club under his belt.
Signed in 2011 by Sir Alex Ferguson from Atletico Madrid, De Gea won the Premier League, FA Cup, two League Cups and the Europa League in his time at United. However, he is now seeking a new club after being released by Erik ten Hag.

United have replaced De Gea with Andre Onana from Inter Milan and the Spaniard is still on the search for a new club.
Of course, De Gea was close to joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2015, only for the move to collapse when an issue with the documentation emerged and it did not come to pass. However, the Spaniard could yet sign for Los Blancos now.
Following Courtois being ruled out for some time after rupturing his ACL, De Gea is reportedly now in "advanced talks" with Madrid. If it happens it will see the goalkeeper move to the Santiago Bernabeu some eight years after it was originally on the cards.
Elsewhere, Eric Bailly is reportedly set to move to Besiktas after he agreed personal terms with the Turkish side. The move is waiting on United to give the thumbs up to the transfer.
