Phillip Schofield's Dancing On Ice future is yet to be decided after his unexpected from This Morning after 21 years at the helm. The ITV star announced his exit with immediate effect on Saturday, as rumours of a feud between himself and Holly Willoughby swirled. As well as presenting the daytime show together, the duo have other commitments together and have hosted Dancing On Ice together since 2019.
With their friendship allegedly in tatters, fans have wondered if we'll ever see the pair back on-screen together again – questioning if Phil will return to present the competition programme. An ITV spokesperson has now addressed the matter. They told Metro: “Dancing On Ice isn’t due on ITV until January 2024 and the series is not currently in production.” The spokesperson added that “further announcements”, including the presenting line-up, will be made “in due course”.
In a statement released on Saturday, Phillip stunned fans as he confirmed his This Morning exit, revealing his final episode has already aired. He said: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.
“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love. “So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.
