A Scots dad who battled drug addiction for 17-years is hoping to prove change is possible after turning his life around with the help of mental health groups.

The grieving father of a young woman found dead in her Shetland home has broken his silence.
Claire Leveque was discovered after police were called to reports of an alleged disturbance at a property in the Sandness area on Sunday, February 11.
The 24-year-old Canadian national was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
A 39-year-old man was rushed to hospital for treatment before later being charged with murder by investigators.
Claire’s dad, Clint Leveque, has now paid tribute to his “friendly” daughter in an interview with CBC News.

He said: “This is terrible. There’s no words to describe the whole situation. She was so friendly to everyone she met. I just want justice.”
He added that he is now trying to remain focused on positive things such as spending time doing the things she loved.
Aren Pearson appeared in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court where he faced a single charge of murder on Thursday, February 15. He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
The case was submitted for further examination by prosecutors with the suspect expected back in the dock within eight days.
Multiple police vehicles, ambulances and HM Coastguard teams were seen at the nearby Melby pier area after the incident was reported. A vehicle was later recovered from the water.
Police Scotland previously confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Claire’s death.
Detective inspector Richard Baird added: “Incidents such as this are thankfully extremely rare in Shetland and we understand that it will have had a significant impact on the local community.
