Coronation Street's star Calum Lill reveals how he channels Joel amid parents tease and potential wedding

Coronation Street's newest star Calum Lill has revealed how he gets into the character of Joel Deering as his secret is set to be revealed. The actor joined the ITV soap last year as the duty solicitor who was first seen having been tasked with helping troubled Lauren Bolton.
But his appearance in Weatherfield wasn't brief as he soon caught the attention of Dee-Dee Bailey. Joel was soon inviting Dee-Dee out for a drink, explaining that he needed to pick her brain about US law but it was just a ruse as he hoped to land a date with the local lawyer.
Romance has since blossomed for the pair but in recent scenes, more suspicions about his reason for appearing in Weatherfield were raised. With Dee-Dee snowed under with work, Joel offered to meet a new client on her behalf and pass on notes. Joel was then seen meeting up with Dee-Dee’s client in the bistro but they were interrupted by the arrival of Emily, who was clearly angry.

In a panic, Joel steered Emily out with Toyah Habeeb watching on from the bar, intrigued, wondering who the woman was. And in upcoming scenes, it's been revealed that Alya Nazir will soon have questions about her colleague and friend's new man after he claims that a receipt for an expensive jeweller was cufflinks he bought.
Alya jokes about his expensive taste but as she later heads out, she spots Joel in a car being driven by a sullen-looking woman. Alya watches with her suspicions mounting. Later, Alya steals herself before showing Dee-dee the CCTV footage from the bistro. Dee-Dee confronts Joel who admits that he has a wife,
