Coronation Street serial killer Stephen Reid is under suspicion next week as he attempts to cover up his role in Rufus Donahue's murder.
Stephen is forced to take risky precautions to ensure he doesn't get caught as Rufus' widow Lou is convinced her husband's death was not an accident.
Later, Stephen gets a fright when Lou shares a bag of Rufus' belongings and notices that his tie pin is among them.
Lou's mention of Rufus' missing watch prompts Peter to confess to Carla that he found it in the back of his cab and pawned it to pay for her rehab. Lou doesn't recognise the tie pin amongst the belongings, and announces she's reporting the item to the police.
Stephen is left panicking when Lou vows to tell the police everything, believing that the tie-pin could be the evidence she needs to prove Rufus' death was not an accident.
Next week, Lou arrives for a meeting at Underworld and tells Stephen about her dealings with the police. Lou confirms that the police will look into the rogue tie-pin leaving Stephen at risk of being caught.
In a bid to stop Lou from handing over the evidence, Stephen steals her hotel key and goes snooping through her belongings while she is still speaking to Carla at the factory.
After locating the tie-pin, Stephen is pleased with himself and puts the item in his pocket for safe keeping before he hears someone at the door.
Later in the week, Lou turns up at the factory again and initially claims that she's there for another meeting.
Lou's true agenda becomes clear when she reveals that she has really turned up to find out who stole the tie pin from her hotel room. How will Stephen respond?
