Coronation Street's Joel Deering (Calum Lill) might be hiding another secret about his real plans for Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) on the ITV soap. Fans think there's more to the story after Joel’s lies started to unravel in the latest episode. Dee-Dee was heartbroken when she discovered what her new boyfriend had been keeping from her.
After weeks of acting suspiciously, Joel was forced to admit the truth. He'd been meeting up with a mystery woman named Emily, and finally confessed everything to Dee-Dee on Wednesday 21 February. He revealed two big secrets: that he was secretly married and also had a baby daughter.
Emily is his wife, but they're said to be separated and planning to divorce. Joel said they broke up 18 months ago, and that his little girl, Maisie, is one year old. Joel told Dee-Dee that things weren't going well between him and his wife before they split, but they tried again when she fell pregnant.
Then, Joel had to admit that he'd cheated on Emily while she was pregnant, which led to her kicking him out.
Now, 18 months later, Emily is back in his life and his lies have been exposed to Dee-Dee. But viewers suspect Joel is still not telling the truth and his real secret hasn't come out yet. Some fans believe he's lying about his break up and might still be with Emily, or at least was with her more recently than 18 months ago.
However, viewers suspect Joel might be harbouring another secret or two. Some reckon he has a hidden agenda against Dee-Dee related to his business. On social media, one fan stated: "Don't believe a word out of the liar's mouth Dee Dee." Another speculated: "Only got Joel's word that he and his wife have been split up for 18 months, so i'd take that with a pinch of salt
