The Cleveland Browns have had a very solid offseason with their free-agent signings. They are now looking to add one more big piece before the season starts. That piece could very well be WR DeAndre Hopkins.
Hopkins and Watson were teammates for a while in Texas. Now with the recent news that the Cardinals have released the WR the Browns could be in play. “Me and DHop, we talk (all the time). He’s been a brother of mine for a long time,” Watson said, via Zac Jackson of The Athletic.
“I know there’s things swirling around and my answer to that is of course we would love to have him.” as reported by SI.com. The rumors have really been swirling and Watson as well as everyone else has seen that. Deshaun did say it was out of his hands though. If the Cleveland Browns were to make a move on DHop he would most definitely be welcomed with open arms.
Cleveland checks every box for what Hopkins wants. He wants to play for a good quarterback and he wants to win. The Cleveland Browns are set to do both of those things this season. Between the years of 2017-19, DeAndre Hopkins had 4,115 receiving yards and a big 31 touchdowns.
Deshaun Watson has made his stance on the matter known. As Cleveland’s highest-paid player, his thoughts should be taken into consideration on who the team outs around him.
