Christine McGuinness says double diagnosis 'changed her life' before Paddy split as she recalls reclusive years

Christine McGuinness has said her double diagnosis 'changed her life' before she split from her husband Paddy McGuinness. The model was diagnosed with autism in 2021, aged 33, after all three of her children received the same diagnosis.
Since finding out about having the lifelong spectrum condition, which means your brain works in a different way to other people and influences your communication and social skills and the regulation of emotions, Christine has been a keen campaigner and continues to raise awareness on the disorder.
When first sharing the news, Christine said on social media that she was "autistic and proud". In a post on Instagram she wrote: "I got my diagnosis a few months ago. I have felt different my whole life. Honestly, I am relieved to finally understand myself!"

She then later revealed that she had also been told she has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - better known as ADHD. The condition includes symptoms such as being restless and having trouble concentrating.
Christine told the Daily Star months after sharing she has autism: "I’ve now been diagnosed with ADHD, autism and dyspraxia. Knowledge is key. If you know the situation, you’re able to deal with it. So getting a diagnosis has really opened up my life. It’s given me so much more opportunity to understand why I was the way I was."
Now, the 35-year-old has opened up about how she gets "extremely hyper emotional" if she’s "sad" due to her ADHD and autism as she told how both of her diagnoses changed her life.
